At the beginning of January i was aproached by another groop who was in deperate need of help there was only 3 menber in the group and only one that knew how to use maya so i decided to join the group
so i will separate my work in 2 sections relevant to each group.

My task for this term was to first texture the temple and the ship and attach the particle system to ship for the crash shot

unfortunately at the end of january it was decided by the group to remodel another temple i was a bit unhappy that the decision to redo the temple was taken in February while the model was done since the mi- november another member of the team was assigned to redo it by then i still had started to experiment on textures this are some shots of the temple base texturing

for this project i was asked to first texture all the environement and then to create and texture all the plants and trees of the environement
this is a pic of the environement i will be working on

as they was no concept art done at that time i started gathering information from the other group menber and and gathered some reference picture of diferent type of terains

after talking to the group the first thing that they had mentioned is covering the ground with grass i decided to experiment with maya fur and its grass tool the first thing that i realised is that to cover the ground i needed a very high density of grass which made the file very heavy specially after i added a couple of tree and also our tutor Mike Smith mentioned that it looked more like a golf course and would not be the best way to got if we trying to create an old civilisation environment
after further discussion with the rest of the group we decided to make the top area out of rock and i decided to focus on using maya paint effect instead of Maya fur
Final ground texturing
those are the ground texture that i used for the terrain
to create my texture i decided to use a layered texture shader
the next thing i did was using the 3D paint tool to use paint over the area so that i can use this texture as a an alfa channel
